国家荣誉学会 is an organization that is committed to promoting character, 奖学金, 领导, 和服务. 电竞竞猜’s chapter of NHS draws from the most involved and accomplished students, recognizing their work and creating a community that gives back to the school. NHS has dramatically increased its involvement in the school community in the last few years. We host service projects such as the Test Prep Book Donation Center and 同侪教导 and are looking for more ways to expand!
‘Give or Take’ Test Prep Book Donation Center
Please donate lightly used or new test prep books to the school community to the back left bookcase in room B1. 学生 are welcome to give and take books that will be useful to them. Books for exams such as the SH坐, 坐, 行为, AP, 坐 II科目测试, 评议, 欢迎更多.

学生 in any grade who are looking for consistent tutoring or homework help in any subject can be matched with an upperclassman NHS member. Tutors will receive requested community service hours. Please indicate interest in tutoring or being tutored in the following forms.

Study Bridge or StudienBrucke provides language instruction and academic training to high school juniors who want to study in Germany and excel in science, 技术, engineering and mathematics (STEM fields). Participants familiarize themselves with Germany’s teaching, 学习, and campus culture while enjoying a full immersion experience. Studying in Germany offers first-class education, giving students the perfect foundation for a successful career in their home countries and around the world.

Before and/or after-school tutoring by subject teachers is available for the school year. Some teachers also offer individual or small-group tutoring during school time. Schedules are provided to families through our fall mailing, or provided at Parent Teacher Conferences in the fall.
The peer tutoring program is a student run system that allows classmates to assist their peers. 电竞竞猜 国家荣誉学会 students volunteer their time to provide peer tutoring throughout the year. 学生 interested in being tutored should contact Ms. Walker在awalker@fleetmanagement.my.grplaminates.com
电竞竞猜 is open on some Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM for 周六学院. Please check with Guidance to see which Saturdays are available. Peer tutors are welcome to volunteer to earn 服务 Learning hours for their work.
Attending students will need a signed a parent / guardian consent form obtained from your guidance counselor.

这个程序, envisioned by 主要 Bonds, is a central tenet of 电竞竞猜’s educational goal of increasing minority representation in the Specialized High Schools. The concept is unique, and 电竞竞猜 is the only NYC school to have such a program.
The initiative works with guidance counselors at area middle schools to identify promising students who would benefit by extra prep for the SH坐. The program’s goal is to get area middle school students into any of the Specialized Public High Schools, 包括电竞竞猜.
Test prep lessons are free of cost for the students and their families. It is taught by CCNY faculty and graduate students. 电竞竞猜 NHS students are encouraged to volunteer as tutors and earn community service hours. It meets most Saturday mornings in the spring.
Families are expected to attend two meetings a year. An introductory meeting and for end of term awards.
This cost of this program is paid for through grants from private and public sources as well as the DOE. 学生 enrolled in this program are expected to have 100% attendance.
